Ductless Air-Source Heat Pump

Incentives
  • Base Tier – EnergyStar® version 6.1 minimum standard – 7.8 HSPF2
    • $250/ton, up to 5 tons.
    • $125/ton for additional capacity over 5 tons.
    • Rebate can not exceed 50% of equipment cost.
  • Cold-Climate Tier – EnergyStar® version 6.1 cold climate – 8.5 HSPF2, 70% capacity and COP of 1.75 at 5F
    • $500/ton, up to 5 tons.
    • $250/ ton for additional capacity over 5 tons.
    • Rebate can not exceed 50% of equipment cost.

Ducted Air-Source Heat Pump

    • $500 bonus for dual-fuel with propane.
  • Cold-Climate Tier – EnergyStar® version 6.1 cold climate – 8.1 HSPF2, 70% capacity and COP of 1.75 at 5F.
    • $500/ton, up to 5 tons.
    • $250/ton for additional capacity over 5 tons.
    • $500 bonus for dual-fuel with propane.

Air to Water Heat Pumps

Incentives
  • $500/ton, up to 5 tons.
  • $250/ton for additional capacity over 5 tons.

Product & Application Requirements

  • Equipment manufacturer and model number identification.
  • AHRI certification number or document.
  • Itemized receipt, including break down of equipment and labor.

Product Guidelines

    • SEER and SEER2 is an industry performance indicator of cooling performance for air conditioners and heat pumps based on the matched set of indoor and outdoor equipment.
    • HSPF and HSPF2 is an industry performance indicator of heating performance for heat pumps based on the matched set of indoor and outdoor equipment.
    • AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute) is a trade association that administers a certification program ensuring various types of equipment perform according to manufactures published claims.
    • EnergyStar is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that provides information on the energy consumption of products and devices using standardized methods.

Electric Heat Pump – Ground Source

Incentives
  • $500 per ton for new systems.
  • $250 per ton for replacement systems.
  • $100 per unit for ground source heat pump powered hot water (a.k.a. desuperheater).

Product & Application Requirements

  • Manufacturer and model number identification.
  • Relevant equipment metrics (EER, COP).
  • Itemized receipt, including breakdown of equipment and labor.

Product Guidelines

  • EnergyStar® rating not required.
  • New or replacement ground source heat pumps with closed-loop or open-loop water source heat pumps qualify.
  • A desuperheater is an optional heat transfer device for domestic water heating from a ground source heat pump.
  • Back-up and/or hot water storage tanks associated with a desuperheater are not eligible for additional rebates.
  • EER is an industry-standard ratio of the cooling capacity to the power input.
  • COP is an industry-standard ratio of useful heating or cooling provided for work required.

Rebates Program Requirements and Information

  • Must be an MVEA member.
  • Rebate requests take 4-8 weeks to process and will reflect on your MVEA bill as a credit.
  • Rebates are for new product purchases only.
  • Applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase date.
  • You must provide an itemized sales receipt showing the model number, proof of payment, and the breakout of equipment and labor if applicable.
  • Effective through December 31, 2024. Rebate program and products are subject to change at any time without notice.
