What is Operation Round Up?

Operation Round Up® is a unique program that embodies the cooperative spirit by helping those who face unexpected challenges such as personal disasters or medical emergencies. Through this program, over $100,000 is given back annually to support charitable organizations and co-op members in our community.

How It Works
  • Member Contributions: On average, members contribute just 50 cents a month, totaling $6 per year. No member donates more than $11.88 annually.
  • Impact: With nearly 27,000 members participating, these contributions have amounted to over $3.3 million distributed since 1999.
  • Privacy: We respect our members’ privacy, ensuring anonymity for those applying for assistance.
Why Join?

While participation has slightly declined due to increased living costs and changes in our membership, the need for community support remains. If you’re not enrolled yet, consider joining to make a positive impact.

How to Opt-In

Opting in is simple:

  1. Online: Log in to your SmartHub® account and check the opt-in box.
  2. Call Us: Contact our Member Service Representatives at (719) 495-2283 for assistance.

If you’re facing a crisis:

  • Individual Assistance: MVEA members can apply using the Individual & Family Grant Application.
  • Organizational Assistance: Organizations within our territory should use the Organization Grant Application.

The Round Up Board reviews applications bi-monthly and conducts special meetings for individual cases.

Funds are managed by an independent volunteer Operation Round Up Board of Directors, ensuring fair distribution according to program policies. All contributions remain within our service territory, benefiting our community members directly.
