Relocation

Do you need to relocate existing MVEA facilities? Or would you like to convert existing overhead facilities to underground?

Relocations of MVEA Facilities will be provided in accordance with the terms of the current MVEA Line Extension Policy (PDF). A few things to keep in mind:

  • A $250 minimum engineering design fee may be required.
  • There may be other utility companies in your area that currently have an overhead Joint Use Agreement with MVEA. You will need to contact these companies individually to coordinate the removal and/or reattachment of their facilities.
  • MVEA’s responsibility does not extend beyond the meter socket, so a relocation of your member-owned facilities may be needed as well.

Removal of Facilities

Do you have a home, barn, or other structure with an electric service that is to be demolished or moved, or for some other reason the service and/or power line is no longer needed? A few things to keep in mind:

  • A Removal of Facilities Form must be completed and signed by the owner of the property.
  • Removal of MVEA Facilities will be provided in accordance with the terms of the current MVEA Line Extension Policy (PDF).
  • There may be other utility companies in your area that currently have an overhead Joint Use Agreement with MVEA. You will need to contact these companies individually to coordinate the removal and/or reattachment of their facilities.
  • MVEA’s responsibility does not extend beyond the meter socket, so removal of your member-owned facilities may be needed as well.

Engineering Fee

  • The engineering fee will be included as a credit in the overall cost of the project.
  • If the project is cancelled, the engineering fee will be forfeited.
