MVEA is Helping Members Wrap up Their Holidays

MVEA is collecting Christmas trees and old incandescent light strands until January 31st.

January 8, 2018, Falcon, CO – If you’re still in the midst of putting away your holiday decorations, Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. (MVEA) can help you wrap up your holidays. MVEA is collecting both live Christmas trees and old strands of C9 or C7 incandescent lights. Plus, members who bring in old light strands could get up to $50 off their next MVEA electric bill.

MVEA is encouraging their members to bring in their incandescent (C7 or C9) light strands through January 31. Strands can be dropped off at either MVEA location (Falcon or Limon). For every strand that is brought in, MVEA members will receive a $5 credit on their next electric bill. Members can drop off up to 10 strands for a total of a $50 savings.

MVEA is using the Christmas Light Round Up program to not only give their members instant bill credits this year, but to help them see energy savings on their holiday light bills in the future, too. LED bulbs are more efficient than old incandescent bulbs. Using LED light strands versus incandescent strands can cut energy use by 8%.

MVEA is also accepting live Christmas trees at their Falcon Operations Center. There’s no charge to drop off a tree. The trees will be turned into mulch; the mulch is free to members upon availability. To schedule a pickup of tree mulch, call (719) 495-2283.

Both MVEA locations (11140 E. Woodmen Rd., Falcon and 1655 5th Street, Limon) are open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
