Falcon, CO – Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. (MVEA), recently hosted a town hall meeting at MVEA’s Falcon office. The town hall was scheduled in an effort to give local citizens an update from the capital and comprised of state and local elected officials including Senator Paul Lundeen, Senator Dennis Hisey, Representative Tim Geitner, El Paso County Commissioner Mark Waller, El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman and El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Representative Joe Roybal.
Each attendee on the panel spoke briefly about topics that they felt were most important to the community. Some topics included water storage and rights, road conditions and improvements, traffic enforcement, and a few upcoming bills and legislation that would have local impacts. Following their updates, the panel opened the floor to audience members to ask questions. Concerns included overcrowding in schools and education funding. Several informal conversations also took place once the town hall concluded.
MVEA will host another Town Hall on May 9 at the Falcon Office.
