Members Encouraged to Submit Tree Trimming Requests
June 10, 2019, Falcon, CO – This spring, our weather was unpredictable and turned from sunny to dreary in a moment’s notice. When tree limbs grow too close to power lines, they can cause damage or interrupt electric service – especially during high winds and severe weather like we experienced a few months ago. They can also create a safety hazard to you, your neighbors, or children who like to climb trees. Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. offers free tree trimming near powerlines to ensure member safety, reliability and prevent power outages caused by downed trees.
If MVEA members see a tree that could be an issue, they can help MVEA keep the lights on by submitting a tree trimming request form at our Tree Trimming page or by calling MVEA at 1-800-388-9881.
Trees are routinely trimmed around MVEA overhead electric distribution lines and by the request of individual property owners around service wires (up to MVEA meter locations). MVEA would like members to help identify additional trees that need to be trimmed to:
- Keep power lines clear of tree limbs.
- Restore power outages more quickly.
- Keep crews and members of our community safe.
- Reduce unexpected costs for repairs.
