Brightening the Season: Celebrating Our Members’ Christmas Lights

At Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA), the holidays brought joy, tradition, and connection to our communities. This season, we asked members to share their favorite Christmas light displays, and seven members wowed us with their creative and heartfelt efforts to spread holiday cheer.

Justin Frederick created a dazzling light show synchronized to music, featuring 13 songs and over 10,000 LED lights—a year-round labor of love. Joe McKnight lit up his neighborhood with 3,500 lights, festive yard displays, and a commitment to sharing the holiday spirit with children. Teenager Jacob Lind impressed the community with his synchronized display of 600 LED lights, inspiring visitors to donate to the Falcon Zone Food Pantry.

Danielle Tinkler honored her father with a heartfelt display that included a 20-foot elf and flying Santa, while Tisha Zarbock brought her childhood memories to life with 8,000 LED lights and a festive sleigh photo opportunity for neighbors. Mike and Lindsey Kindt celebrated the meaning of the season with a handmade nativity scene, while Matt Crafton transformed his home into a “winter wonderland” complete with rustic skis, woodland animals, and snowflakes, earning first place in the Meridian Ranch Christmas Lights Decorating Contest.

These displays were more than just lights—they embodied the creativity, dedication, and community spirit that make the holidays special. Thank you to everyone who helped make the season brighter! Be on the lookout next year for a full list of community light displays to explore and enjoy during the holidays. From all of us at MVEA, we look forward to celebrating with you again next season!
