Elementary-Aged Students Show Importance of National Electrical Safety Month With Creative Posters

May 16, 2022, Falcon, CO – To illustrate the importance of National Electrical Safety Month this May, Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) is proud to announce the winners of the 2022 Electrical Safety Poster Contest! This contest is offered annually for children, grades kindergarten – fifth, to increase electrical safety awareness. This year, 179 posters were submitted from eleven schools across MVEA’s service territory. This year’s winning poster was created by Stella, a fourth-grade student at Big Sandy School.

In addition to MVEA’s overall poster contest winner, a winner from each grade level that submitted posters was selected. Each of the winners received a Kindle Fire, and the winners’ teacher received an Amazon gift card.

Fifth Grade Winner (Tie): Emma, Limon Public Schools


Fifth Grade Winner (Tie): Alexandra, Prairie Winds Elementary School


Because we live and work in the community we serve, we care about our neighbors and their children. MVEA’s poster contest is held each year January – March. Winners are chosen in April and featured each May to highlight National Electrical Safety Month.
