Elementary-Aged Students Celebrate National Electrical Safety Month with One-Of-A-Kind Posters

Falcon, CO – For Mountain View Electric Association, Inc, (MVEA), safety is the number-one priority. To illustrate the importance of National Electrical Safety month this May, MVEA hosted their fifth-annual Electrical Safety Poster Contest for kids in grades kindergarten through fifth. MVEA’s poster contest is held each year January – March, so kids created their original posters before the COVID-19 stay-at-home order was in place. The winners were chosen in April and are now being featured to highlight National Electrical Safety Month. This year’s winning poster was created by Conner, a fourth-grade student at Big Sandy School.

In addition to MVEA’s overall poster contest winner, a winner from each grade level was selected. Each of the winners received a Kindle Fire, and the winners’ teacher received an Amazon gift card.

And the winners are:

  • Overall Winner – Connor, Fourth Grade Student at Big Sandy School
  • Kindergarten Winner – Chisum, Limon Public Schools
  • First Grade Winner – Rosa Linda, Calhan Elementary School
  • Second Grade Winner – LeighAnn, Cherry Valley Elementary School
  • Third Grade Winner (tie) – Mireya, Grand Mountain K-8
  • Third Grade Winner (tie) – Shayne, Big Sandy School
  • Fourth Grade Winner – Brynn, Bear Creek Elementary School
