Staking Technician

Mountain View Electric Association has a job opening for a Staking Technician in the Falcon Operations Center. This position will perform a variety of engineering tasks, including, but not limited to designing construction and retirement of the distribution electric system.  The ideal candidate should be interested in challenging assignments and will be responsible for single and three-phase designs of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for commercial and residential areas while maintaining good customer relations; have an understanding of electric distribution systems; experience with office and engineering software; ability to read, interpret and understand construction specifications, safety rules, procedure manuals, easements and legal descriptions.  Must be a self-motivated individual with a high level of accuracy and the ability to analyze and draw conclusions.  Candidate must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.  Applicant must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and pre-employment physical in addition to random drug/alcohol testing.  Must be 18 years of age or older; be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Journey Linemen

Job # CO6405054

Mountain View Electric Association has a job opening for two Journey Linemen in the Falcon Operations Center and one opening in our Limon Office.   We will also consider applications for Apprentice Linemen.  This position is responsible for the construction, conversion, relocation, maintenance and repair of the electrical lines in the assigned area to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Cooperative’s overhead and underground distribution system.  The ideal candidate will be experienced and thoroughly knowledgeable in the performance of linemen duties.  Journey Lineman status resulting from completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.  Apprentices that have completed at least two years of a recognized apprenticeship program will be considered.  Candidates should have a stable, verifiable work history, must have a valid Colorado CDL with an acceptable MVR.  A pre-employment physical and drug screen is required.  Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
